Whatever poker game you choose to play, you need a plan. Let me be your guide here and give you poker playing strategies for my personal favorite poker game, 5-card stud.
Here is my idea of good poker playing strategies.
* Always be aware of your opponents' visible cards. This way you can see if you are losing a hand.
* If the cards you need to help improve your hand can be seen in your opponents' hands, they are now useless to you.
* There are thirteen cards in a suit. You need five of them to make a flush. If the cards you need happen to be in your opponents' hand, you are not getting them. If you can't see them, however, it means that it is still possible to receive those cards. |

* You should fold if another player's exposed cards are strong.
* You should fold if another player's exposed cards beat your entire hand.
* If you are trying to compete a Straight, check to see if another player displays the cards you need. You can then accordingly adjust your strategy.
* Fold when necessary. 5 Card Stud Poker is a game of patience, so do not bet all your money on losing hands. |
